What's New?

This is where we'll announce the most recent activities and events in the laboratory:

bulletWe are currently looking for highly qualified and motivated graduate students and post-doctoral researchers to join our laboratory.  If you are interested and have relevant technical expertise, please contact Prof. Frechette for more information.  Funding is available for some of the projects (updated list, sept 2006).  Application information is available online.  The official language at the Université de Sherbrooke is French, however English is a common second language for most researchers, and theses can be written and defended in English.
bulletJune 4-8, 2006 - Presentation of our research at Hilton Head (Solid State Sensors, Actuators, and microsystems Workshop), sharing our results for the microturbopump, the MEMS adaptive valves, and laser micromachining.
bulletJuly 1, 2004 - Dr. Fréchette will be establishing the new Microengineering Laboratory for MEMS at the Université de Sherbrooke, officially starting July 1st, 2004. He is coming to us from Columbia University, NY, U.S.A., where he has been leading research and teaching activities in MEMS since 2000. Previously, he completed his doctoral research in Power MEMS at the Gas Turbine Laboratory of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
bulletApril 6, 2004 - Dr. Fréchette was awarded a prestigious Canada Research Chair in Power Microsystems (MEMS) (4/2004). News article...
